2024 Canopy Lecture- Beyond Opposition: Building Bridges Through Dialogue

In today’s polarized world, understanding each other is more difficult yet crucial for building a future where all can thrive. To address this, we are excited to announce Beyond Opposition: Building Bridges Through Dialogue, featuring keynote speaker Tania Israel, renowned author of Beyond Your Bubble and Facing the Fracture. She will share practical tools for listening, connecting, and fostering understanding across divides.

Attendees will explore strategies for respectful dialogue, addressing conflicts, and transforming adversarial relationships into productive collaborations. This lecture will help strengthen both personal and community connections.

Your registration includes two exclusive workshops with Sheffy Minnick, co-author of Transforming Conflict and Collaboration, focusing on practicing empathy, building skills for dialogue, and enhancing collaboration in all areas of life. Canopy Lecture FAQ

While we’ve heard from our network that too many things happen just in the Metro Denver area, we’ve also heard that its centrality makes it easy to travel to. We’ll continue to explore finding the right balance in where we host events.

This event will include lunch, late afternoon hors d’oeuvres, and snacks throughout the day. Vegetarian options will be available.

Tickets are available on a sliding scale from $50-$250. We ask that you select a ticket price matching the size and budget of your organization. If you lead or support community work on your own time, without the support of an organization, select a ticket price appropriate for you.

The Civic Canopy has intentionally set the price of tickets to this all-day event at an affordable rate and will not be offering scholarships or transportation and lodging support to this event.

Practitioners and community members seeking to promote transformative chance in communities through collaboration. The Lecture and workshop that follows will provide a useful theoretical framework for participants and a set of practical tools to address deep divides.  

Bus lines that come by the venue include the 44, 38, 43, and 52. If driving, the closest highways are 25 and 70.

Free street parking is available on a first come / first served basis. A rock lot located at 27th and Blake will be available and cost $7 for the day.

Yes. All three restrooms at Green Spaces are gender inclusive.

Spanish and English interpretation and translation will be provided. If the language of your heart is not represented between these two, please indicate that on your Registration form.

The venue is ADA accessible and has a ramp to access the building. There are no automatic buttons to open bathroom doors. They are not heavy nor close automatically. We’ll have plenty of fidgeters ready for our neuro-spicy friends and write more about lighting and anticipated stimulus ASAP.
