You may have heard that our systems aren’t broken, they’re working exactly as they were designed. But how do we redesign them? It takes big things like changing the laws we follow or how we split up funding. That takes changing the way we work with other people, including those we disagree with. But if we really want to change the world, we must change the way we think.
Our 2024 Canopy Summit will focus on what creates transformational systems change. If we want to build a world where everyone belongs, what will allow us to change the culture of othering. The Canopy Summit brings together change agents from across the state to improve our ability to work together toward a future where every Coloradan can thrive.
What can we expect?
The summit will take place over three days, bringing together workshops, performances, networking, and more to build a culture of collaboration across Colorado. This year, the summit will take place at the Hyatt Regency in Aurora, Colorado from April 23rd-25th. Throughout the event, attendees will engage their heads, hearts, and hands toward a more connected future.
This event is open to anyone who works to create change in their community, whether they’re a grassroots organizer, work for a local nonprofit, teach at a school, volunteer for their local food bank, or are running for office. The event will provide you with relationships across the state working on issues like housing, food insecurity, mental health, health equity, and much, much more.

Who is The Civic Canopy?
The Civic Canopy is a community-based nonprofit focused on transforming the way we solve society’s big, sticky issues. We do this by engaging and connecting diverse groups of people seeking change in their community and equipping them with the tools to create meaningful and lasting impact. Project by project, we aim to create a new culture across Colorado that centers around elevating often unheard and underrepresented voices, designing spaces that foster understanding and trust, and mobilizing towards collective action that results in systemic change.
